Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints
This is for your kind information that Gurjibhai 62 years, our missionary at Metpur, went to be with the Lord on June 22, 2011 due to kidney failure. His wife Sumliben, and two sons (Davidbhai and Rashikbhai), married with 3 kids are left behind with good Christian testimony. Gurjibhai was hospitalized for past 3 weeks and after treatment the doctors gave up hope for his recovery. Gurjibhai had left a good legacy for many of us to follow. He was illiterate but took time to study God’s word through audio Bible and by attending our classes. He had the thirst to learn and study God’s word. Though he had limitations God used him as a mighty instrument in reaching out to many in his village as a result of which we have a congregation of 150 people in Metpur church. In my conversation with him when he was in the hospital, he expressed his concern about who would take over the responsibility after him. His passion for the lord is indescribable. Man with fewer words but more of action. We as Gujarat mission team would certainly miss him and his fellowship but we would always cherish the fragrance he has left.
God enabled me to conduct the funeral service along with our missionaries who came to attend the service. It was amazing to witness that more than 1200 people attended the service from his village and neighborhood. This shows how people loved him and the testimony he had for the Lord. I request your valuable prayers for the bereaved family members and the church members who are bereaved due to the home going of their beloved evangelist. We would also like to request you to pray that we may be able to find a suitable person who can take the mantle that Gurjibhai has left in Metpur church.
