Greetings to all in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. During our Savior’s public ministry He came across crowd where both young and old were present. Children were part of the crowd that followed Jesus and our Saviour had keen interest in the holistic development of the children. One such instance as we read (mat 19:14), where Jesus put His hands on the children and prayed for them. Following the footsteps of the master we as “Gujarat Nav Prakash team” want to reach out to the children for they are the torchbearers of our church for the next generation. We prayed and planned for VBS in Vyara mission fields where children from both our churches as well as from the nearby villages could come and listen to the life changing gospel. Last year in the month of October 2010 we could arrange one day program for the kids where 192 children attended and out of which around 120 children accepted Lord Jesus as their personal Saviour. We had a huge number but were limited to the children of our church who could come with possible means of travel. We could see that it limited many more children who liked to come but due to the distance their parents did not permit long journey and they couldn’t make it.
This year we decided to hold VBS in our respective fields where we could have easy access to the children as well as to the families. This has really worked as we could concentrate more this time better on the children as well as to their parents.
This year for VBS we wanted to have someone who is an expert in this field and more than that has the commitment to reach out to these children. Therefore when I went for my Deacon Ordination training program I met and shared this concern with Rev. Dn. C.P. Markoose who readily accepted to come over to Vyara to help us for this cause. We appreciate his love for the children as well as the talents that the Lord has entrusted to him. Mona and I could translate the stories and messages shared during the VBS. This year we had VBS in our mission fields where villagers and the children of the nearby villages could attend. We could conduct VBS in five places namely GADAT, ANTAPUR, METPUR, NARAYANPUR and in VYARA MISSION HOUSE. Altogether we were able to reach 345 children and young people who helped us in arranging the program.
